The Chinese Celebrate Their Roaring Economy, As They Struggle With Its Costs According to a new report from the Pew Global Attitudes Project, more than 80 percent of Chinese people have a positive view of their nation's economy and the way things are going in their country. Based on a survey conducted earlier this year, the report, The Chinese Celebrate Their Roaring Economy, As They Struggle With Its Costs (50 pages, PDF), also found that despite their optimism Chinese citizens may be struggling with the consequences of economic growth. Concerns about inflation and environmental degradation are widespread, and while most Chinese embrace the free market there is considerable concern about rising economic inequality.
