Citizen Media Law Project's Legal Guide
The Citizen Media Law Project's recently launched Legal Guide addresses the legal issues media creators may encounter while gathering information and publishing their work. Funded by the
John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the guide is intended for those with or without formal legal training and allows users to search by keyword or browse by state or section. The guide, which currently covers the fifteen most populous states and the District of Columbia, has sections on intellectual property, access to government information, dealing with online legal risks, and news gathering and privacy.
