100 Best Communities for Young People
The 2008 100 Best Communities for Young People have been announced, and the winners include cities, towns, and counties from thirty-seven states. Now in its third year, the list — which is sponsored by America's Promise Alliance in partnership with Capital One — recognizes communities that find unique and effective ways to ensure that their young people receive the resources necessary to stay in school and succeed. Forty-four of this year's top one hundred communities are three-time winners, including Sylacauga, Alabama; Manatee County, Florida; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Sugar Land, Texas; and Spokane County, Washington.
