What's Good for Your Heart Is Good for Your Brain

In conjunction with Black History and American Heart months, the Alzheimer's Association and the American Heart Association have teamed up to educate African Americans that by managing their cardiovascular risk they may also strengthen their cognitive health. The campaign, "What's Good for Your Heart Is Good for Your Brain," which will run through American Stroke Month in May, is centered around the results of a survey by the two organizations which found that 61 percent of African Americans are concerned about developing heart disease, 40 percent are concerned about developing Alzheimer's, but only 6 percent are aware that heart health is linked to brain health.
