America Saves Week
As reflected in a personal savings rate that's close to zero, most Americans are not saving enough for retirement and most lower-income households do not have enough put aside for unanticipated emergencies. Coordinated by America Saves and the American Savings Education Council and sponsored by Washington Mutual, America Saves Week — February 24 through March 2 — spotlights the financial security of American families and brings together a range of activities designed to persuade more Americans to build wealth rather than debt.
