Education

The Connection Strategy According to a new report from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, low-income minority students would be better prepared for academic and economic success if school systems, administrators, and educators adopted a comprehensive P-16 approach that connected education strategies from preschool through college graduation. The report, The Connection Strategy: Preparing Young People to Succeed in College and Beyond (38 pages, PDF), discusses education policy strategies at the state level and highlights the foundation's work in Atlanta schools as an example of what schools and communities can do to improve educational outcomes for minority students. The report also explores the foundation's role in Atlanta as a local intermediary organization working to create a P-16 network of schools that serve young people in a low-income neighborhood.
