January 24 is National Mentoring Day, part of the National Mentoring Month celebration. The campaign Web site offers interviews with well-known personalities — including Colin Powell, Bill Clinton, Usher, and Oprah Winfrey — as well as areas where visitors can write a tribute to their mentors, submit a story about that person, or "pass it on" by making a commitment to become a mentor. The month-long campaign is spearheaded by the Harvard Mentoring Project in the Harvard School of Public Health and the Corporation for National and Community Service. Additional sponsors include the MetLife, MCJ, and Curtis L. Carlson Family foundations.
