The Economic Impact of Nonprofit Performing Arts on the City of Omaha A new report from the Omaha Community Foundation measures the economic benefits created by Omaha's nonprofit performing arts industry. Commissioned by the Holland and Peter Kiewit foundations, the report, The Economic Impact of Nonprofit Performing Arts on the City of Omaha (39 pages, PDF), provides an overview of the history of the performing arts in Omaha; discusses the relationship among arts, tourism, and economic growth; identifies statistical methods of measuring impacts; and estimates the impact of the performing arts on Omaha, identifying the impacts on the overall economy, earnings, self-employment income, jobs, and state and local tax collections.
