At the Crossroads — Better Infrastructure, Too Few Results: A Decade of Child Welfare Reform in New York City
A new report from Children's Rights, a national watchdog group, examines the performance of New York City's child welfare system over the past decade in five areas: child protective services, preventive services, foster care, Family Court, and child fatalities. Funded by the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, the Metzger-Price Fund, and the Edward and Ellen Roche Relief Foundation, the report, At the Crossroads — Better Infrastructure, Too Few Results: A Decade of Child Welfare Reform in New York City (179 pages, PDF), finds that despite improvements, problems with ensuring the well-being of kids in the city's child welfare system persist.
