CORI: Opening Doors of Opportunity: A Workforce and Public Safety Imperative The Boston Foundation and the Crime and Justice Institute have released a report recommending changes in the way Massachusetts' Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) is used in order to remove unnecessary barriers to employment for people with criminal histories. The report, CORI: Opening Doors of Opportunity: A Workforce and Public Safety Imperative (32 pages, PDF), also calls for retaining the system's ability to maintain safety in the workplace. Other recommendations include expanding the scope of the Criminal History Systems Board to reflect the importance of reintegrating ex-offenders into the state's workforce and simplifying the format of CORI reports to make them more user-friendly.
