Public Affairs

Father's Day Just in time for Father's Day, a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press has found that Americans are evenly divided when judging fathers in the United States. Nearly half (47 percent) of the public said they're doing a worse job when compared with fathers a generation ago, while 49 percent said they're doing as well or better. According to married mothers who work at least part-time and are raising young children, 72 percent say dads are now doing as good a job or better than their counterparts did a generation ago; only 26 percent say they're falling short. Being Dad May Be Tougher These Days also finds a broad consensus between men and women that it is harder to be a father now than it was twenty or thirty years ago.
