Minorities

Untitled The first ever nationwide survey of Muslim Americans finds them to be largely assimilated, happy, and moderate with respect to many of the issues that divide Muslims and Westerners in other parts of the world. Funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts, the report, Muslim Americans: Middle Class and Mostly Mainstream (108 pages, PDF), also found that while Muslim Americans reject Islamic extremism by larger margins than Muslim minorities in Western Europe, there is somewhat more acceptance of extremism in some segments of the U.S. Muslim public than in others.
