PND Connections - Amnesty International USA Hearings on Racial Profiling

In the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the debate on racial profiling has shifted to federal investigations of people of Middle Eastern descent. In an effort to gather testimony about the practice and solicit policy recommendations, Amnesty International USA is conducting a series of hearings across the country to discuss racial profiling and how it affects ethnic minorities. Open to the public and media, the hearings will feature local and national experts on racial profiling, victims of profiling, victim advocates, and law enforcement personnel. The organization also invites written testimony about racial profiling practices through its Web site.
