OMB Watch, the watchdog group created in 1983 to monitor the White House Office of Management and Budget, has launched a new online resource that helps nonprofit organizations build their advocacy efforts. NPAction.org provides nonprofits with reference materials, the best practices of seasoned advocates, and e-mail links to a range of policy makers. The site also offers articles and research on topics such as capacity building and the laws and regulations governing lobbying, tip sheets and other tools to help nonprofits engage in public policy, and a calendar of training and capacity-building opportunities for advocates. OMB Watch developed the site with help and/or funding from several partners, including Charity Lobbying in the Public Interest, Atlantic Philanthropies, the Ford Foundation, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and the Surdna Foundation.
