Universal Affordable Broadband For All Americans Amid growing concern that the United States is lagging other countries in achieving universal broadband penetration, the Benton Foundation has published two new reports designed to inform U.S. policy makers about the issue and its importance to the country's competitiveness in a global economy. The reports, available through the foundation's Universal Affordable Broadband For All Americans program, compare current broadband regulations to those of European and other international markets, and recommend that the U.S. adopt more innovative, consumer-driven policies. The foundation's broadband initiative aims to expand access to digital communications technology for all Americans, regardless of socioeconomic status.
