Health Information Technology: Are Long Term Care Providers Ready? A new report from the California HealthCare Foundation finds that California's long-term-care providers have a long way to go toward adopting technology that helps manage patient information and improve patient care. The report, Health Information Technology: Are Long Term Care Providers Ready? (23 pages, PDF), examines the many obstacles that nursing facilities, residential-care facilities, and community-based service providers must overcome in order to implement new health information technology, such as cost, system integration, and staff training, and includes recommendations for policy makers and providers who are starting to grapple with the issue.
