Jamestown 2007 - America's 400th Anniversary
This year marks the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, the first permament English settlement in the Americas, and to commemorate that pivotal moment in world history, events will be held up and down the East Coast. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation has posted podcasts about the history and archaeology of the nearby site. Jamestown 2007, a sub-agency of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, is coordinating the celebration, which includes the sailing of the Godspeed, a replica ship from the era of Jamestown's founding.
