Arts and Culture

Economic Impact of the Arts in Denver According to a new study from the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts, the cultural community in metro Denver generated $1.4 billion in economic activity in 2005 and attracted 14 million people — 2.4 million from outside the region — to events in the city. The report, 2006 Economic Activity Study of Metro Denver Culture (17 pages, PDF), also found that Denver cultural organizations generated $387 million in new money from tourism, capital spending, and federal grants; that they paid almost $95 million in wages to 10,800 employees; and that for every $1 spent on culture, $1.32 was created for other businesses in the region.
