According to the 2006-07 edition of Scanning the Horizon: Trends, Developments, and Innovations Impacting the Future of Child and Family Services (29 pages, PDF), income equality in the United States continues to widen. Published annually by the Alliance for Children and Families and focusing on such issues as the economy, education, immigration, health care, technology, and the workforce, the study also found younger generations of Americans inadequately educated and equipped to lead the nation, and adults and children more connected technologically but more isolated socially.
