The latest issue of the Commonwealth Fund Quarterly (19 pages, HTML) focuses on the lack of adequate insurance coverage for elderly adults. The newsletter, which reports on the Fund's most recent work in the area of healthcare policy and practice, features articles and studies on the decline in employer insurance coverage for new retirees, the impact of pending prescription drug legislation, and the tendency of older uninsured adults to shy away from important preventive health services until they are eligible for Medicare. Other features include a grantee spotlight on Marian Earls, M.D., who led a project to integrate developmental screening and case management functions at clinics serving low-income children; a toolbox of resources and strategies developed through the Fund's Assuring Better Child Health and Development initiative; and a list of recent and forthcoming publications from the Fund.
