Paying With Our Health: The Real Cost of Freight Transport in California
According to a new report from the Ditching Dirty Diesel Collaborative and the Pacific Institute, cleaning up California's ports, truck routes, railways, and distribution centers would cost polluting companies just pennies on the dollar but would save the state billions and result in improved health for millions of affected residents. The report, Paying With Our Health: The Real Cost of Freight Transport in California (46 pages, PDF), was funded by the Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment, the Coalition for Clean Air, and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
