Alzheimer's Survey: What America Thinks
Americans fear getting Alzheimer's disease more than heart disease, stroke, or diabetes, while those aged 55 and older fear it even more than cancer, a new report (36 pages, PDF) from the MetLife Foundation finds. Nevertheless, while Alzheimer's afflicts nearly half of those who live past the age of 85, nearly nine out of ten Americans have not made any financial, personal, or legal arrangements to buffer the impact of the disease.
