Job Opportunities for New York City's Disconnected Youth A new report from the Center for an Urban Future examines opportunities presented by the impending retirement of the oldest baby boomers to engage New York City's disconnected youth. Funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Charles Stewart Mott and Bill & Melinda Gates foundations, Chance of a Lifetime (28 pages, PDF) urges schools and community groups to do more to connect with employers and public and private sector leaders to step up their funding of resource and program development to ensure that younger generations have the skills necessary to fill positions soon to be vacated by retiring boomers.
