Flu Vaccines Provided to Older Adults on Election Day
On Election Day, voters 50 and older can cast their ballots and get a flu shot in twenty-five communities in seventeen states. Through the Vote and Vax initiative, supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, clinics will be stationed outside polling sites to dispense flu shots to registered voters who show a valid Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance card, or who want to pay on-site. RWJF also has posted a toolkit for community health groups, Vote and Vax: Setting Up a Successful Clinic in Your Community (11 pages, PDF), on its Web site.
