Revitalizing America's Post-Industrial Cities: Lessons From Cleveland In prepared remarks (12 pages, PDF) to the City Club of Cleveland, Ronald B. Richard, president of the Cleveland Foundation, outlined the challenges facing America's post-industrial cities, including the need for economic revitalization, education reform, improved access to human services, and greater support for arts and culture. To tackle those challenges successfully, Richard noted, cities like Cleveland need to create a comprehensive action plan and stick to it, build on their strengths, develop new industries to complement and strengthen existing ones, and encourage partnerships.
