An Assessment of War-Affected Children in Northern Uganda
In war-ravaged northern Uganda, thousands of children, including former child soldiers and youth who have lost one or both parents, live in camps for the internally displaced where clean water, food, and medical care are scarce and disease is rampant. War-Affected Children and Youth in Northern Uganda: Toward a Brighter Future (56 pages, PDF) shares the findings and recommendations of a team dispatched by the MacArthur Foundation to identify ways to provide these children with schooling, health care, income-generating activities, and justice.
