State of Kids' Health Coverage
The number of children with health coverage has grown by two million (20 percent) since the 1997 creation of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), according to a new study by the University of Minnesota's State Health Access Data Assistance Center. Publication of The State of Kids' Coverage (25 pages, PDF) inaugurates the Covering Kids & Families back-to-school campaign, an initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation designed to encourage parents to enroll their children in Medicaid or SCHIP.
