Migrants and Health Issues in Mexico and California The population of Mexican migrants, immigrants, and their children in the United States is growing rapidly, especially in California, while the evidence suggests that overall health trends for the Mexican-origin population are deteriorating, a new report (66 pages, PDF) from the University of California and Mexican investigators finds. Sponsored by the California-Mexico Health Initiative, the California Endowment, and the Secretaría de Salud de México, the report calls for a binational network of researchers, institutions, and policy makers to devote more resources to assessing and addressing the issue.
