Earth Day is April 22
More than half a billion people will celebrate Earth Day on April 22. To coordinate the annual event, which was first celebrated in 1970, and to promote environmental citizenship and action year-round, the organizers of the original Earth Day event founded the
Earth Day Network. Visitors to the network's Web site will find a database of Earth Day 2006-related activities, resources, teaching materials, a climate-change fact sheet, and a fifteen-question Ecological Footprint Quiz that shows how much productive land and water is needed to support your lifestyle.
