National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
To mark National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (March 10), the Kaiser Family Foundation has released an updated fact sheet (2 pages, PDF) on the growing impact of HIV/AIDS transmission on American women and girls, especially among women of color and those between the ages of 13 and 24. The report profiles women at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS and living with the disease, outlines their difficulties in accessing medical care, and calls for more information for women on this issue.
