Increasingly, U.S. consumers are heading to the Internet to shop, especially during the hectic holiday season. With safety in mind, two nonprofits have put together lists of suggestions designed to protect online shoppers from scams. The American Bar Association created Safeshopping.org, which offers ten tips to online shoppers, including "Double-check pricing" and "Pay for your order the safest way, with a credit card." And the National Cyber Security Alliance has posted twelve tips on its Web site, staysafeonline.org, including "Never enter your personal information in a pop-up screen" and "Keep documentation of your order."
