Violence as a Public Health Issue
According to a new report from the California Wellness Foundation, the collective achievements of individuals working to prevent violence and promote peace in their communities over the past decade have helped to measurably reduce the number of violent crimes in California. The report, Reflections on Leadership — The California Peace Prize (24 pages, PDF), shares lessons learned from a TCWF communications strategy designed to focus media and public attention on violence as an important public health issue.
