Children and Youth

The Freddie Mac Foundation's Heart Gallery features professional portraits of forty-eight children awaiting adoption in the Washington, D.C., area — a fraction of the half-million kids in foster care nationwide. Mirroring the exhibit that will travel within the district — one of sixty nationally — the virtual gallery includes short descriptions of each child, most of whom are considered difficult to place, to improve their chances of finding a permanent home. And as children are adopted, their photos will be replaced with those of other foster children.
