Philanthropy and Voluntarism

National Philanthropy Day, on November 15, provides an opportunity — as well as events across the country — to reflect and act on the spirit of giving. For example, Learning to Give, an initiative developed by the Council of Michigan Foundations, has developed K-12 lesson plans for the occasion that include activities and resources for teachers, youth workers, religious instructors, and parents designed to help them educate young people about how the sharing of "time, talent, and treasure" can improve their communities.
