Essay Contest for Kids on World Problems and Giving

How would you help the world if you had a million dollars? Inspired by the film Millions, an online tool called Millions of Ways to Help teaches third- through fifth-graders about philanthropy while building their writing skills. Through an essay contest sponsored by Fox Home Entertainment and Young Minds Inspired, kids can write about which cause they would support with a million dollars. The Web site supplies information on six issues — education, health, disasters, hunger, the environment, poverty, and peace — as well as contest rules, prizes, and course materials for teachers focused on the value of giving. Content will remain posted on the site beyond the November 18 deadline.
