Connections - Calendars of Activities for Children
The Reading Is Fundamental site offers monthly calendars, complete with a new reading and writing activity suggestion for each day of the month, for children of all ages. Suggestions for October include readings about Eleanor Roosevelt, whose birthday is October 11; learning about Yom Kippur, which begins on October 12, and writing a paragraph about it; and collecting fallen leaves on October 23 and determining which trees they came from. The Web site also provides activities for children, broken down by age group, that parents can share.
