Ethnic Media Popular Among Ethnic Americans According to Ethnic Media in America: The Giant Hidden in Plain Sight (executive summary, 5 pages, PDF), 80 percent of adult African Americans, Hispanics, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, and Native Americans rely on ethnic media for information about their communities and countries of origin. For African Americans, radio was the most popular medium, while for Asian Americans it was newspapers. And while Arab-American and Hispanic respondents indicated a preference for ethnic television, the latter increasingly are opting for Spanish-language radio and newspapers. The survey was commissioned by New California Media, in partnership with the Center for American Progress and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund.
