National Internet Safety Month
The Senate has designated June as National Internet Safety Month. To draw attention to the seriousness of this issue — one in five children is sexually solicited online, and the primary victims are teenage girls — the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Advertising Council are co-sponsoring a campaign directed primarily at teenage girls, incorporating television and radio spots and a Web site operated by the center, where reports of sexual exploitation can be sent. The tagline for the campaign, which is in English and Spanish, is "Don't Believe the Type" or "No Te Creas el Cuento."
