What is the impact of investing in leadership? How can that impact be quantified? And are the right people being identified as leaders? To help address these and related questions, the Oakland-based Public Health Institute, with funding from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation and USAID, developed EvaluLEAD: A Guide for Shaping and Evaluating Leadership Development Programs (51 pages, PDF). Based on the experience of seventeen organizations that field-tested the institute's approach, the guide provides a framework for evaluating leadership development based on values, norms, and performance factors, and also supplies a step-by-step map for creating a leadership evaluation plan.
