Hispanics/Latinos

Corporate Inclusion-Exclusion of Hispanics The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility has issued the final results of the HACR Corporate Index survey (6 pages, PDF), which measured Fortune 100 companies' inclusion of the Hispanic community across five areas: corporate executive leadership, corporate governance, workforce representation, Hispanic community reciprocity, and minority supplier outreach and development. Fewer than 30 percent of the top one hundred companies chose to participate in the survey, but of those who did, 57 percent reported Hispanic representation in the boardroom, though Hispanic women were noticeably absent; 81 percent tracked Hispanic hiring rates; and 48 percent committed to a specific spending volume with Hispanic-owned firms. However, 81 percent did not consider the economic contributions from the Hispanic community a benchmark for inclusion or corporate philanthropy.
