Young Adults Want Health Insurance
Young adults are one of the largest and fastest-growing segments of the uninsured population in the United States. Yet contrary to popular opinion, they do not believe themselves to be immortal nor do they dismiss the risks associated with being uninsured. According to the Commonwealth Fund's Biennial Health Insurance Survey, seven out of ten young people between the ages of nineteen and twenty-nine said that health insurance was very important to them in deciding whether or not to take a job. And when employed young adults are offered health insurance coverage, 71 percent take it.
