Georgetown University to Expand Center for Study of Voluntary Organizations

The Jessie Ball duPont Fund of Jacksonville, Florida, has awarded a grant of $516,919 to the Center for the Study of Voluntary Organizations and Service at Georgetown University to expand the center's capacity as it seeks to meet increasing demand.

The center, which was founded as part of the Georgetown Public Policy Institute in 1997 and hopes to become one of the premier public policy think tanks focused on nonprofit studies, has seen student applications triple and enrollment double in the last two years.

The gift to Georgetown was among $1.7 million in grants made by the trustees of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund at their November meeting.
