Florida's Publix Super Markets Corporation Receives United Way Award

Lakeland-based Publix Super Markets, Florida's largest private employer, has received the Spirit of America Award for community involvement from United Way of America. The award recognizes the efforts of Publix employees, who gave $5.7 million to United Way's 1996 campaign, and retired employees, who donated an additional $78,000.
