Mission: To build health caring communities and human care delievery systems across the staet through a strong charitable nonprofit sector, informed philanthropic giving and quality community-based planning.

Background: CCSNYS is a 76 year old, statewide nonprofit association representing a growing membership of close to 1,000 diverse charities. Through CCSNYS our members access an array of high quality, discounted group-purchasing programs. We also provide technical assistance targeted at increasing knowledge, efficiency and accountability in the nonnprofit sector. We provide assistance in legal, fiscal, board governance, strategic planning, fund development and more via conferences, events, educational workshops and regular publications.

Current Programs:

Technical Assistance Programs on:
Fiscal Management, Legal Issues, Board Development, Strategic Planning, and more.

Current Conferences include:
Nonprofit Technology Expo, Camp Finance, (planned) Nonprofit Expo, Build A Better Nonprofit Training Series, and Choose Your Charity.com Donor Education and Accountability site.

Funding Needs:
Seed funding to establish and support regional offices to better serve the needs of nonprofits in Western New York, Central New York and Metro New York.

Funding to expand capacity of CCSNYS' legal and financial management consultation services

Funding to support and strengthen the CCSNYS online donor education and accountability site "chooseyourcharity.com"

Funding for Capital Improvements to our historic main offices in Albany, NY.






Every month, the "Spotlight On" highlights the activities of a different 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in the tri-state region (NY, NJ, or CT). The selection of organizations for the "Spotlight On" is based on criteria such as programmatic interests, geographic focus, and size, to ensure the broadest possible representation of the region's nonprofit sector.
