The Foundation Center welcomes
group visits to our library.
Typically, classes that make use of this service are undergraduate
or graduate students learning about the nonprofit sector
in general, and fund development in particular, as it
relates to foundations, corporate giving, and other private
funders.
This service is also available for groups not affiliated
with a college or university. For instance, we have conducted
training sessions for groups of international visitors
being hosted by other organizations.
Our staff trainers can present any of our regularly
scheduled, free sessions for your group, including Grantseeking
Basics, Grantseeking Basics for Individuals, BiblioTour,
CyberTour, Getting Started with FC Search, or Proposal
Writing Basics. For a complete description of those
classes, visit http://foundationcenter.org/newyork/ny_training.html.
We can also tailor a presentation to your specific interests.
Because these classes are scheduled regularly, we ask
that if you plan to bring a group of 10 or fewer people,
you investigate the feasibility of registering your
group for one of those sessions. To view a calendar
of upcoming sessions and to register online go to http://foundationcenter.org/newyork/ny_calendar.html.
If you have a group of at least 15 people, please contact
the New York library's senior librarian at sgs@foundationcenter.org
to discuss your group's training needs.
