Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Awards $2.1 Million to Chamber Music America
The New York City-based Doris Duke Charitable Foundation has awarded a four-year, $2.1 million grant to Chamber Music America to expand its jazz programming.
The grant will support New Works: Creation and Presentation, which recognizes both established and emerging artists by funding the composition and presentation of new jazz works. It will also support the jazz component of CMA's Residency Partnership Program, which promotes the development of new audiences for chamber music, jazz, and world music by supporting creative collaborations between ensembles, presenters, and community organizations.
In addition, CMA offers professional development consultations and seminars to help jazz musicians, presenters, and ensembles develop and sustain their careers.
