Description:
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) offers its mobile clinic program to provide veterinary care and education about pets to under-resourced communities. Last year, three mobile units treated a total of 10,000 animals, offering free and low-cost vaccinations as well as spay/neuter operations.
The grant will allow the mobile units to operate five days a week with a goal of reaching 11,000 animals. The program will also teach people about proper pet care and provide instructions on safely trapping stray animals for the mobile clinics. The ASPCA will promote the services by running advertisements in local newspapers and by working with community organizations.
