Participants in the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Internship Program Recognized by New York Life
Participants in the prestigious Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Internship Program were recognized at a reception held at New York Life Insurance Company on Friday, July 11, 2003.
The summer program allows African-American undergraduates to work on Capitol Hill with a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and participate in roundtable discussions with other members, federal government officials and public policy experts. Two of this year's 39 selected interns, Mr. Jason Frazer of S. Ozone, NY and Mr. Brendan Redman of Brooklyn, NY, are interning with Rep. Charles Rangel (D-15-NY) and Rep. Major Owens (D-11-NY), respectively.
The program is funded by a grant from the New York Life Foundation, the major vehicle through which New York Life Insurance Company channels contributions to nonprofit organizations. Through its Nurturing the Children initiative, the Foundation supports organizations, programs and services that target young people, particularly in the areas of educational enhancement, mentoring, and safe places to learn and grow.
