Connecticut Health Foundation Releases Report on Health Disparities
The Connecticut Health Foundation's Policy Panel on Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities recently issued 14 recommendations to address health disparities in the state. The report targeted four areas for improvement: social and environmental factors; data collection at government agencies; language barriers; and workforce diversity in health professions.
The Policy Panel published Pathways to Equal Health after spending more than a year examining literature in the field, participating in policy discussions, and holding public hearings.
Chair of Connecticut Health Foundation's Board of Directors, Leo Canty remarks, "I want to thank all of the Policy Panel members for their efforts in identifying problems, heightening awareness and working on ways to address this wide-reaching, often overlooked public health problem."
Having committed more than $4.8 million to address health disparities thus far, the Connecticut Health Foundation will provide additional funding to support key recommendations. Click here to access the full report.
