New York, NY — February 16, 2007. This spring, the Foundation Center offers nonprofit professionals the opportunity to learn the latest strategies in fundraising, proposal writing, and nonprofit management with nine full day-courses in 27 cities across the nation and its intensive Grantseeker Training Institute in four cities. The Center also offers a series of online training courses, including the recently launched Proposal Writing: The Comprehensive Course.
Full-day classroom training in 27 cities — Grantseekers can learn how to craft winning proposals with Proposal Writing Seminar, Proposal Writing Seminar II, and Proposal Budgeting Workshop. The budgeting workshop is conveniently scheduled back-to-back with Proposal Writing Seminar in most locations. The Center's "Fundraising Fundamentals" series includes Foundation Fundraising: An Introductory Course, Developing a Fundraising Plan, Building a Fundraising Board, and Foundation Funding Research. Nonprofit management courses include Earned Income: Assessing your Revenue Options and Outcome Thinking & Management: Strategies that Get Results. Nonprofit managers will learn how to evaluate business venture ideas and how to apply an outcome-based approach to their programs and projects.
Five-day Grantseeker Training Institute in four regional centers — The Center's popular Grantseeker Training Institute programs sold out in 2006. This spring the Institute will be held in San Francisco, New York, Cleveland, and Washington, DC. In a small group setting, participants learn how to develop a fundraising strategy, enlist the board's involvement, find and prioritize foundation and corporate prospects, and write grant proposals.
New online training course — The Center's newest online training option, Proposal Writing: The Comprehensive Course, helps grantseekers master the art of proposal writing through each section of a proposal-from the executive summary to the conclusion-including lessons on organizing the components and packaging the proposal.
Course descriptions, fee information, and online registration are available at http://foundationcenter.org/marketplace.
The Center also offers 18 free introductory classes on a wide range of fundraising topics at its five regional sites. Customized on-site training is available on request.
